Ultrathin LEDs

June 7, 2007
The ASMT-Rx45 ChipLEDs are a Series of low-power, high-brightness LEDs in a 1.65 X 0.8-mm lead frame that's only 0.45-mm high.

The lead frame transfers heat away from the LED for high-brightness operation from –40 to 100°C over a 130° viewing angle. The LEDs use aluminum-indium-galliumphosphorous (AlInGaP) material that requires less board space and comes in red, red-orange, orange, and yellow to yellow-green colors. The LEDs are said to handle the extreme conditions found in automotive, electronic sign and signal (ESS), and industrial applications.
