Robotics and Welding Cables

July 7, 2005
The Tailor-Made Cable line of robotics and welding cables includes control cables built with three to 65 conductors.

Application-specific power welding cables carry cross sections ranging from 3 awg 6 (16 mm2) to awg 4 (25 mm2) and awg 2 (35 mm2) — and higher. Shielding techniques allow for special hybrid designs where different components (power, sensor, and/or control wires) reside in a single cable for cost and space savings. Designed for life spans of up to 25 million bending cycles, these high-flex automation cables can withstand a bending radius as small as 5 the outside diameter. UL-approved, flameretardant, halogen-free polyurethane (PUR) jacketing featured on many robotics cables can withstand up to 257°F (125°C), with a 194°F (90°C) continuous operating temperature.
