Import V6.2 is an import utility for IES users who have their CAD and CAE programs on computers separate from their IES program. IES programs link directly to CAD programs such as I-deas, SolidWorks, Pro/E, Inventor, and Solid Edge for true representation of complex geometric shapes.
Import V6.2 lets a drafter, for example, import a 3D model, zoom in and out, and rotate the model to ensure it's accurate. The model can then be saved to an IES database format and sent to the IES 3D computer for further analysis.
