New Product: Inductive Sensor

Feb. 7, 2008
The M8 inductive sensor, claimed to be the world’s smallest in a 16-mm-long package, comes with an amplifier.

Housed in 303 stainless steel and protected to IP67, the sensor can be flush mounted and has a 2-mm operating distance — twice that of comparable sensors. The increased distance lets the sensor install further away from the target and any moving parts, making it less susceptible to collision damage. Sensing range is –25 to 70°C. Additional features include 3-kHz maximum switching speed, short-circuit inverse polarity, surge protection, and an LED operation indicator. The sensor has a 10 to 30-Vdc operating supply voltage and can switch an output current of 200 mA.
