Linear Actuators

Jan. 26, 2006
Redesigned Bug Series linear actuators offer strength, precision, and reliability in a compact footprint.

Interchangeable motor-mounting plates make it easy to reconfigure the actuator with a different motor and/or leadscrew. A Kevlar drive belt and pulleys eliminate gears between the motor and drive screw, and provide 1;1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, and 5:1 drive ratios with low audible noise and backlash. Seventeen motor options are available, including dc, dc servo, dc gearmotors, steppers, and Animatic SmartMotors. Travels limits have an accuracy of ±0.0003-in. bidirectional and ±0.0001 unidirectional within the operating range of 20 to 120°F. Additional features include linear speeds from 0.001 to 20 ips, built-in end of stroke cushion, full stroke lengths from 2 to 8 in. and actuation force up to 500 lb.
