New Products: Linear Bearings

Aug. 21, 2008
Linear precision bearings, in both inch and metric sizes, have three times the load capacity and can provide up to 27 times the normal travel life of conventional slide bushings.

Features of the bearings include a self-aligning capability with a center pivot point acting as a fulcrum that compensates for any slight misalignment between the shaft and the housing bore; a floating integral-wiper seal that permits self-alignment while maintaining equal and constant contact to the shaft; and adjustable clearance where load plates “float” in the outer sleeve for clearance between the ball elements and shaft. The unit’s higher load capability and longer travel life permit the use of smaller components reducing material costs and the overall system cost.
