Ultrasonic Position Sensor

The QT50U Series long-range universal voltage ultrasonic sensors are designed to sense fluid levels in tanks.

The sensors typically mount to the top of the tank and beam an ultrasonic signal down to the fluid, using return time as the measure of tank level. The QT50U accommodates 48 to 250 Vac or 24 to 250 Vdc and works well on machinery where only ac power is present. QT50U Series sensors also feature an advanced microprocessor design that simplifies setup and programming. Range is up to 8 m. Programming is via two onboard pushbuttons, and the sensor incorporates an 8-A SPDT electromechanical relay output. There are models available for fill level control logic or standard window limit applications. A special Retro-sonic mode teaches the sensor a distinct point within its range and will detect any object that passes between the sensor and this point.
