Visual Programming For DAQ Systems

Jan. 20, 2005
DTx-EZ/RT-Streaming (DT-XS) software works with DT9840 Series DSP data-acquisition hardware so that users can develop real-time test and measurement applications rapidly using modern visual-programming languages.

The software and 32-bit Active X controls let developers use languages such as Visual Basic, Visual Basic.NET, Visual C++, Visual C++.NET, and Visual C#.NET. Data-acquisition ActiveX controls stream data to and from any DT9840 Series DSP module in realtime. Data acquisition is simplified by the automatic configuration of the analog I/O, digital I/O, and counter/timer operations of the DT9840 Series of boards using the Active X controls found on the host. DT9840 series DSP data-acquisition hardware is designed around the TMS32OC67x DSP processor with up to 128 Mbytes of RAM and 2 Mbytes of Flash. Eight 24-bit a/d converters provide a signal-to-noise ratio of 110 dB and the board provides simultaneous operation of eight analog-input channels, two or eight analogoutput channels, 24 digital I/O lines, and three 32-bit counter/timers.
