Polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) and other thermoplastic olefins provide design engineers with low cost, durable, flexible, and heat, moisture, and solvent resistant materials. As design engineers find new uses for these materials they are encountering difficulties in bonding with adhesives. This webinar discusses ways to work with these “non-stick” materials and using a new class of adhesives.

The attendee will come away with the following information:

  • The different types of Low Surface Energy materials available to designers
  • What makes LSE materials “non-stick”
  • An explanation of low surface energy and “wetting”
  • A discussion of ways to achieve better bonds with LSE materials
  • Potential pre-treating of the adhesive or the substrate
  • New bonding techniques
  • Advantages of new LSE adhesives
  • Challenges facing converters working with LSE materials
