The P-080 tubular piezo stack actuators, also known as ring actuators, are the latest edition to the PICMA series of piezo actuators. Based on solid-state motion effects, they run on lower voltages between -20 and 100 V and provide higher forces than other piezo tubes, extending axially when a voltage is applied. They can be used in high-speed applications, as they demonstrate a microsecond response with sub-nanometer resolution. The inner hole is useful for preload or as an aperture in optical applications. Travel ranges from 5.5 to 25 microns, and stiffness may be up to 145 N/micron.
