Electronic-test equipment manufacturer Geotest-Marvin Test Systems Inc., Irvine, Calif. (www.geotestinc.com), is now shipping its GP1552WR pulse generator to the U.S. Navy. The Navy plans to use the device in its AN/USM 484 testers, deployed worldwide to support F/A-18 aircraft. The stand-alone, rack-mountable GPIB pulse generator is completely form-fit-function compatible with the now-obsolete equipment the Navy was using.

The Navy is also testing the company's Geotest GP1650 Series of arbitrary waveform generators. Geotest also has orders from the U.S. Air Force for its GP1552HR, a replacement for the obsolete HP8160A pulse generator. The GP155X Series is also fully compatible with Tektronix's PG 5110.
