Landscape and construction machinery maker Finn Corp., Fairfield, Ohio (, replaced the fabricated-steel fuel tank on its T90 HyrdoSeeder with a rotationally molded plastic fuel tank and cut costs by 62%. The new tank is also safer and lasts longer than the steel tank.

The one-piece, cheese-wedge-shaped tank from Meese Orbitron Dunne Co., Saddle Brook, N.J. ( fits an existing pocket in the machine without modifications.

Molded-in inserts in a U-shaped channel along the entire tank length let the tank slide in during installation and be secured with two bolts, eliminating welding. Seamless, crosslinked, polyethylene construction does away with joints, seals, solder, and welds that invite corrosion, rust, and potential leaks.
