This year marks the 30th anniversary of one of the largest trade shows in the U. S. for the dental-laboratory profession.
LAB DAY, which travels to three locations throughout the year, raked in over 3,200 laboratory owners, managers, technicians, and dentists to the Chicago show this February. Here’s a look at some of the highlighted products ranging from PEEK-based dentures to compact milling machines.
VITA Suprinity, a zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate ceramic from Vident, Brea, Calif. (www.vident.com), was displayed for the first time in the U. S. The new-generation ceramic has 10 times the zirconium-dioxide content of traditional CAD/CAM glass ceramic, as well as a fine-grained and homogeneous structure.
The material is referred to as a “new generation of glass ceramic” and is designed for anterior and posterior crowns, implant restorations, as well as inlays, onlays, and veneers.
The material will be available in the U. S. later this year and will work in a select list of milling machines including the CEREC/inLab MC XL, Amann Girrbach Ceramill Motion 2, and the KaVo Arctica 2.
