SMART IR THERMOMETER
In operation, an onboard microcomputer linearizes the measured signal and scales it in conjunction with scaling factors entered into a PLC to which it connects. Gain adjustments are made to calibrate for emissivity and the PLC displays the correct compensated temperature over the full range of the device. Several 4 to 20-mA output models feature 1-K loop impedance. Linear temperature ranges of 0 to 500 and 0 to 1,000°C are available. Output pins/triggers for alarm points are programmable and Labview executable software for RS-232 output models is available.
