The new Cylindrical Tie Rod (CDT4) Series of NFPA hydraulic cylinders from Bosch Rexroth, Bethlehem, Pa. (, relies on a single, removable rod bearing made of ductile iron to keep things moving, reduce wear, and extend the cylinder's service life. The cylinders also have less guide clearance than previous designs, so loads are distributed more uniformly. A spiral groove in the bearing keeps it lubricated and compensates for pressure changes.

The cylinders come with polyurethane seals NS ISO 11926-1SAE straight-thread connection ports. They handle pressures up to 3,000 psi. An optional cushioning system gives users more accurate micrometer adjustments, faster cycle times, less maintenance, and softer stops than the previous version.
