Cognex Corp., Natick, Mass., and B&R Industrial Automation Corp., Roswell, Ga., have entered into a technological cooperation, with a strategic goal to use the POWERLINK real-time protocol for Ethernet within the In-Sight product line from Cognex. Machine manufacturers will benefit not only from the synchronization of In-Sight products and the B&R control system, but they will also benefit from easy integration of a wide range of machine designs, say company sources. Richard Huss named CEO of Festo US
Festo Corp., Hauppauge, N.Y., announces that Richard J. Huss is the new CEO of Festo US. Huss comes to Festo US from Bosch Rexroth, where he served as vice president and general manager. AST Bearings, Montville, N.J., has earned recognition as a partner-level supplier for 2010 and was inducted into the Supplier Hall of Fame in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. The status is Deere & Company's highest supplier rating; Deere only awards Hall of Fame status after a supplier attains a Partner-level rating for five consecutive years.
