Scanning for Ideas: Captive Joiner Fastens Sheet-Metal Panels
July 10, 2008
Captive-joiner 9.5 Snapline fasteners from Dirak Inc., Sterling, Va. (dirak.us), can be installed without special tools, letting technicians cut installation time by up to 90% without the risk of marring the panel’s finish.
They also need no additional hardware for installation. The design lets users adjust for misalignment during installation. The fastener can be configured to open with a simple 45° turn or with a special key. And it closes simply by pushing the fastener and its panel against the enclosure frame. It fits in standard cutouts in 19-in. racks.
