More help for FIRST competition Participants in the FIRST Robotics Competition this year will get air tanks in their Kit of Parts courtesy of Clippard Instrument Laboratory Inc., Cincinnati. The company is again a sponsor of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), a not-for-profit organization founded by inventor Dean Kamen to spark young people’s interest and participation in science and technology.

According to FIRST president, Paul R. Gudonis, “As a Silver Supplier, Clippard greatly helps us achieve our vision: ‘to create a world where science and technology are celebrated... where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes.’”

Teams receive a kit made up of 604 parts, including motors and a mix of automation components. More than 42,000 students from 10 countries will design and build robots to compete in regional events, with winners advancing to the FIRST Championship in Atlanta, April 16-18.
