The Allen-Bradley 1756-EWEB module from Rockwell Automation, Milwaukee (www.rockwellautomation.com), supports Ethernet/IP and offers a suite of Web capabilities for ControlLogix controllers.

The module lets users view plant-floor data via Web pages, receive e-mail or pager-based alarms, and transmit data to a host of software applications via Extensible Markup Language (XML).

EWEB serves preformatted and custom Web pages containing control system data. Authorized users can gain access with a computer, an Internet connection, and a Web browser. Users can also create custom Web pages that combine control data from machines with links to support services, machine documentation, or online spare-parts order forms.
