Conference Focuses on Fluid-Power Efficiency

Jan. 12, 2010
International conference will cover energy efficiency and recovery in mobile and industrial hydraulics and pneumatics.

The 7th International Fluid Power Conference (IFK) will be held in Aachen, Germany on March 22 to 24. The Institute for Fluid Power Drives and Controls at Aachen University and the Institute of Fluid Power at Technical University Dresden organize this biennial scientific conference, which highlights advances in hydraulic and pneumatic drive and control systems.

The theme will be “Efficiency through Fluid Power.” Topics will focus both on energy efficiency and recovery in mobile and industrial hydraulics and pneumatics. Other presentations will cover simulations, tribology and fluids, automation and control, valves, and new measuring methods.

On the first day, a scientific workshop will present fluid-power fundamentals and results of recent research projects at leading universities and manufacturers. The conference, held the following two days, covers a wide range of application and technology oriented topics. Presentations will be in English or German with simultaneous translation.

An accompanying table-top exhibition highlights additional research and development work in fluid-power accessories, measuring and testing technology, hardware and software for digital signal processing, and simulating fluid-power components and systems.

Attendees also will have an opportunity to visit the experimental and test facilities of the Institute for Fluid Power Drives and Controls. An optional two-day excursion following the conference takes attendees to Voith Paper, the Ford Fiesta automotive factory, and the radio telescope in Effelsberg.
