Company Recognized for Energy Conservation

Credit Suisse, a leading global investment banking and financial services firm was recognized by State and City officials for installing New York City's largest modern ice-storage based air-conditioning system.

Officials from New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (Nyserda) helped fund the project. The system will lower peak energy usage at one of Credit Suisse's facilities by 900 kW and reduce overall electric consumption by 2.15 million kWh. The idea and plan to improve the building's energy performance, were developed by Trane Company, a provider of indoor comfort systems and comprehensive facility solutions for residential, commercial and industrial building needs. The system configuration consists of three 800-ton chillers and 64 thermal storage tanks.
