A new book written by longtime semiconductor designer, Gerald Luecke, titled Analog and Digital Circuits for Control System Applications Using the TI MSP 430 Microcontroller, explains the latest techniques in microcontrollerbased control-system design.

The Elsevier Science/Harcourt text is endorsed by Texas Instruments Inc., Luecke's employer and maker of the chip on which the book's examples are based. The book covers the fundamentals of sensors, circuit design, a/d and d/a conversion, components, and programming techniques. Readers will find clear discussion, numerous illustrations, worked examples that demonstrate key principles, and quizzes to aid understanding. A hands-on project using the TI MSP430 microcontroller is examined in detail.
