Airports line up for explosive-detection systems

Orders for explosive-detection systems at airports overseas are on the rise.
 

InVision Technologies Inc., Newark, Calif. (www.invision-tech.com), reports receiving orders from airport authorities in four countries for multiple systems - Models

CTX 9000 DSi, CTX 5500 DS, and CTX 2500 - valued at nearly $9 million. El Al Israel Airlines along with airports in Spain, Italy, and another unidentified international airline ordered the new equipment.

The highly automated detection systems are said to cut operating costs, boost security, and help improve passenger experience in airports.
