The Uhing Model RG3 linear drives feature a high-thrust option — an extra rolling-ring bearing — that doubles thrust capacity without increasing the unit’s size. The drive contains three rolling-ring bearings. The center bearing makes point contact with the driveshaft on two points to generate the maximum side thrust the bearing can deliver. Two outside bearings contact the shaft only on one point, producing half the thrust capacity for each bearing. The addition of the fourth bearing adds two more bearing-to-shaft contact points, which doubles the thrust of the unit.
The drives come in a wide range of sizes with side thrust ranging from 7 to 800 lb. The drives are well suited for back-and-forth applications because travel speed and direction are mechanically controlled, thereby eliminating the need for electronic controls and programming in linear-motion systems. Eight models with the four-ring high thrust option are available.

Custom-designed PG Series planetary gears are for use with a new line of brushless-dc motors. The gearboxes offer higher speed, load, and efficiency combined with low backlash. The units feature coaxial input and output and the shafts turn in the same direction. The gearheads are suited for clockwise and counterclockwise rotation, as well as alternating, continuous, and cyclic operation. Resistance to shock loads is high due to load distribution over the three planetary wheels and the support of the annular gear. The gears can be preinstalled on the brushless-dc motors.

CD couplings feature composite, nonconductive flex elements that provide electrical insulation while protecting mechanical components from system overloads and stray electrical currents. The couplings also protect system generators from transferring lower reaction loads to the generator bearings. The unit’s composite discs withstand all types of environmental elements, including temperature extremes from –40 to 70°C, as well as moisture and chemicals.
Additional features include zero backlash, excellent for reversing loads, smooth operation at high speeds, and compact size with a clamping system that fits most applications. Torque capacities range from 40 to 1436 Nm and beyond with speed ratings from 4,400 to 17,000 rpm.

Stainless DualVee vacuum guide wheels, for guided motion in vacuum environments, are linear-guide bearings with precision ground 90º surfaces for linear and rotary-motion applications in vacuum environments, vacuum testing chambers, and vacuum-processing equipment. Constructed of vacuum-compatible AISI 440C and 304 stainless steel and grease, the wheels provide good chemical resistance over a wide range of temperatures and handle ultrahigh vacuum down to 10-9 mbar.
The wheels mount on AISI303 stainless-steel bushings or journals and run on mating 90º AISI 420 stainless-steel tracks in single piece lengths up to 20-ft long, and are available in Size 1 and Size 2 with load capacities up to 1,855 N radially, and 4,40 N axially.

For motion-control applications requiring accurate. high-performance, and cost-effective solutions, the SureGear PGCN Series of stepper gearboxes offer the necessary NEMA-size input/output interface.
Available in NEMA-17, 23, and 34 sizes and gear ratios of 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100:1, the stepper gearboxes have a nominal speed of 3,500 rpm and maximum input speed of 6,000 rpm, 30 arc-min or less backlash, and a 20,000-hr service life. The gearboxes are not designed for back driving.
The maintenance-free gearboxes never require lubrication and hardware is included for mounting to SureStep stepper motors; optional shaft bushings for mounting to other motors are available.
