Ultralow outgassing silicones

Oct. 25, 2007
A new family of Ultra Low Outgassing silicone adhesives retain elasticity and low modulus over a broad temperature range (–130 to 260°C) and exceed NASA SPR- 0022A and ESA PSS-014-702 specifications for maximum allowable Total Mass Loss (TML) of 1.

A new family of Ultra Low Outgassing silicone adhesives retain elasticity and low modulus over a broad temperature range (–130 to 260°C) and exceed NASA SPR- 0022A and ESA PSS-014-702 specifications for maximum allowable Total Mass Loss (TML) of 1.0% and Collected Volatile Condensable Material (CVCM) of 0.1%, respectively. According to the company, the silicones go beyond these specs by an order of magnitude, with maximum allowable TML of 0.1% and CVCM of 0.01%.
