Modular Multiplexer Connects Up to 250 Devices

Oct. 22, 2014

The MSE 1000 modular multiplexer from HEIDENHAIN now features transistor–transistor logic (TTL) and inductive and analog interface modules. This allows for the connection of up to 250 devices and the acquisition of measure values via Ethernet, which is especially useful in production line measurement systems. The MSE, which consists of a power module and a basic communication module, allows for simple data acquisition by allowing the user to plug in nearly any type of gauge and collect all data in one location. Additional modules can be attached to connect incremental and absolute linear encoders, rotary encoders, LVDTs, and analog inputs. I/O modules and compressed air modules are available for closed loop, automated in process gauging. The modules are mounted on a standard DIN rail in an electrical cabinet, out of the way of the production line. Provided MSEsetup allows for configuration and diagnostics of the modules.
