Thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) lend themselves to one or two-shot molding, including overmolding on harder, stiffer substrates. In the stopper shown here, designers used overmolding to consolidate a two-part stopper (a thermoset button mechanically joined to the PP sleeve) into a single, leak-free part.
