
In one case the Cure algorithm recognized eight different taillight configurations for an automobile shipped to multiple continents. The problem: There were only subtle differences among the lights and assembly workers tended to install the wrong light on the right car. The result was $20k/min in unplanned work stoppage to fix the goof. A Cure system proved it could recognize differences among all eight types in existing light and despite the fact the lights were wrapped in plastic. Software development and training on images took about two weeks.
