New LEDs are designed to illuminate exit signs in buildings. The EXL-TPW Series Pure White LED Exit Light Bulbs from LEDtronics Inc., Torrance, Calif., replace conventional T6 incandescent exit-sign tubes and provide the usual advantages of LEDs: an average lifespan of more than 50,000 hr, little heating, and use of up to 90% less operating power than equivalent filament-based bulbs.
