The LMA platform uses a special linkage to position a set of planetary wheels for climbing obstacles and righting itself after a fall. Engineering Services Inc. in Toronto has developed a commercial prototype of the design, and robot maker Foster-Miller Inc. is said to be working on robots incorporating these ideas.
