The Krystal Bond sensor uses bulk silicon strain resistors with precise doping, along with a proprietary inorganic bonding technique between the silicon and a thick-metal substrate that makes up the top of the sensor body. The threaded sensor housing is machined from a single piece of small-grain 316L stainless steel that reduces the possibility of hydrogen permeation.
