The external
linear
actuator has an
external precision
nut that moves
along the leadscrew
with the motor driving
the screw. The screw can
be fixed on one end and the
load physically connected to
the moving precision nut. An
antirotation mechanism is needed to
prevent the nut from rotating. Stroke
lengths range from 8 to 20 in., depending
on frame size. The external linear actuator
is suitable for linear stages, X-Y stages,
multiaxis systems, and lift applications.
