The four-parameter model predicts the winding temperature will rise rapidly to it’s 130°C rated value. During this same time period the case temperature hardly changes. The two-parameter model predicts the winding temperature (graph not shown) will be less than its 130°C rated value at 70 sec. Actual measurements show the winding is at or above 280°C at this point and in the process of burning up.
