compaing inserts

In tests conducted at General Dynamic Lands Systems Test Lab, four inserts and a plain tapped hole were placed in 0.5-in.-thick plates of 6061 aluminum, per the manufacturers’ specifications. All of the inserts had M12 × 1.75 internal threads, and Grade 8 bolts were installed into them. Values shown are the average failure points for three samples of each insert. In the torque-out test, both the key-locking insert and Fredsert were undamaged, but the bolts broke. Similarly for the pull-out test, the Fredsert was undamaged, but the bolt broke.
