These charts show cold-start performance of a conventional filter (β7(c) > 1,000) and one specifically designed for dynamic flow conditions. With the former, 6-μm-size particles/ml after the filter jumped from 136 to 2,802 during restart. With the dynamic-rated filter, 6-μm particles/ml after the filter only rose from 10 to 404. This filter better retains contaminants under restart conditions.
