Carbo-Link’s winding machine has five axes of movement: two synchronized winders, a moving tool with two motion axes to control fiber placement, and one axis to slide the tool along the frame. Two Baldor BSM servomotors precisely control carbon-fiber winding. A third controls tool-head movement along the machine. The finished carbon fiber tube here will be used as a torsional shaft.
