The latest in tool-free, snap-fit assembly techniques are incorporated into the TS8 modular enclosure line. The enclosure features a 16-fold tubular frame and multilevel mounting capability. Innovations to the line include a one-piece spring-mounted clip system for fastening mounting panel brackets to the enclosure frame. This clip replaces screws and provides for toolless depth adjustments. The upper mounting panel-installation brackets include a plastic locking clip. A new tubular door frame lets users mount accessories on a door instead of inside the enclosure. The enclosure frame can hold weight loads up to 1,500 lb on the mounting panel.

The Triflex cable-carrier line has expanded to include the TRLF-100 Series, which has three pivoting crossbars that open at any time to make inserting or exchanging cables and hoses quick and easy. With an inner height of 1.4 in. and a bending radius of 5.7 in., inserting or removing cables and hoses is through individual links that open by hand or with a screwdriver. This allows thick or inflexible hoses with large filling diameters or a high number of single cables to be inserted easily, reducing downtime. The modular system is easily lengthened or shortened. Torsion of ±10º/link in its longitudinal axis allows defined torsional movements.

PEM self-clinching cable tie-hooks provide permanent attachment points for mounting wires and cables inside electronic chassis or enclosures. They install without screws or adhesives and their locations/positions can be specified during the design process to provide optimal layout for wires and cables inside assemblies. PEM Type TDO cable tie-hooks are engineered to resolve bundled-wire challenges in electronic equipment. They come in several sizes for installation in metal sheets as thin as 0.040 in. and as thick as 0.125 in. The hooks allow tie-bundled wires to be attached, removed, and returned to mounting points when components need to be accessed for service or replacement. The hook feature allows ties to remain intact and wires to remain wrapped, as well as to serve as a guide and mount for cable or tubing. Panels on the reverse side of installation remain entirely flush without any spaces or openings, minimizing EMI/RFI and preventing any potential contamination of electronics by dust or dirt.

Hi-Flex shielded signal cables come in one, two and three twisted shielded pairs (28 to 18 AWG) in 3, 6, and 12-ft lengths. Designed for repeatable motion, tight routing, reduced skewing effects, and better heat dissipation, the flame-retardant cables are free of contaminants and halogens, and provide uninterrupted data transmission, space efficiency, and consistent electrical characteristics. A computer-controlled extrusion process allows each shielded pair to be placed in a flat parallel profile, controlling the spacing of each component, insulation thickness, and overall cable shape. This ensures that shielded or unshielded conductors do not rub against each other, wear during operation, and provide optimum EMI/RFI suppression. The cable’s tear-resistant Flexx-Sil jacket is self-healing from small punctures and will not wear, crack, or deform due to long-term exposure to continuous flexing, severe impact, vibration, water, abrasion, ice, steam, sunlight, humidity, ozone, UV light, autoclave, expanded temperatures (–65 to 165°C), and many chemicals.
