The National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China adopted EtherNet/IP, along with ControlNet, under the highest Chinese National Standard GB/Z. Growing its presence in the second-largest economy in the world under GB/Z 26157.6-2010 is an important move for Common Industrial Protocols (CIP) technologies, which were previously adopted under Chinese industry standards JB/T 10308.2-2006 in 2007. The GB/Z 26157.6-2010 recognizes digital data communication for measurement and control in industrial control systems and will continue to drive further growth of the CIP family of networks in the Asia Pacific region and around the world.

The Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) also recently adopted EtherNet/IP under the Korean Industrial Standards KS C 61784 and KS C 61158. KATS aims to improve the international competitive power of local enterprises through the introduction of international standards for industrial communication networks, and to support Korean enterprise, KATS harmonizes local industrial standards with international standards. As EtherNet/IP uses standard TCP/IP, the same network technology used in the majority of local area network and wide area network architectures, EtherNet/IP is the ideal choice for manufacturers around the globe looking to take advantage of the ongoing advancements of standard Ethernet and TCP/IP technology.
