U.S. resin and foaming process goes over well in Europe

Eurofragance, a Spanish developer and maker of fragrances, perfumes, and flavors recently devised an all-plastic cosmetic and lotion bottle called the «Bb» made from Eastman Chemical Co.'s water-clear Glass Polymer EB062 resin.

Eurofragance, a Spanish fragrance, perfume and flavor developer and manufacturer recently launched a water-based, allergen-free scent for perfumes and lotions. To differentiate the product from competitors, designers worked with Eastman Chemical Co. Kingsport, Tenn., and extrusion blow molder Rebhan in Germany to develop a new plastic alternative for cosmetics bottles.

The «Bb» bottles are made from Eastman's Glass Polymer EB062 resin specifically designed for extrusion blow molding (EBM). Rebhan's proprietary EBM techniques form thick-walled bottles that remain glass-clear. The bottles feature extra-thick walls in the base so there's less chance of breakage, can be easily colored, textured, or compounded with UV blocking additives to prevent yellowing.
