New Products: Submerged Arc Welding Catalog

October 23, 2008

Patrick Mahoney

A new catalog lists submerged arc equipment, wire, and fluxes.

Printer-friendly version

Submerged arc welding uses flux to shield the molten wire and working metal from contamination and to alter the chemical and mechanical properties of the weld. Subarc welding is said to permit travel speeds up to 220 ipm with multiple wires and penetration up to 1.5-in. thick without a visible arc or spatter.

The catalog offers fused, bonded, active, and neutral fluxes. Welding wires and bands for welding and cladding steel products are also featured. The new catalog provides guidance on choosing the correct wire and flux for a given application.
