Enclosures covered in these ratings include screw cover, hinged screw cover, and hinged with several latch configurations. Type 6 and 6P are 6-ft (1.8-m) submersion ratings for 1 and 24 hr, respectively. Type 12 and 13 ratings add protection from oil and noncorrosive coolants. Additional ratings for larger ARCA sizes include Type 4, 4X, 12, and 13. The enclosures, manufactured from injection-molded polycarbonate, have superior chemical resistance and wide temperature range.
