Looking for a Birdie?

June 5, 2008

This golf cart may have a little more torque than the average golfer needs, but it shows the power of an electric motor with regenerative braking.

Printer-friendly version

D&D Motor Systems Inc., Syracuse, N.Y., a maker of electric motors and controllers, says its regenerative braking also increases vehicle range from 2 to 10%, depending on setup and application. The company’s motors additionally go into small cars such as Volkswagens, Geo Metros, Datsuns, and Fiats, as well as mining vehicles, forklifts, boats, and bow thrusters.
