The AGK ball-screw drive from Bosch Rexroth Corp., Charlotte, N.C. (boschrexroth-us.com), combines a rigid aluminum housing, screw supports, bearings that reduce screw whip, and a high-performance ball screw to provide up to five times the speed (96 m/min) of conventional long-travel linear-motion systems. It is available in accuracy Classes 5, 7, and 9, and Sizes 20x, 32x, and 40x. It is manufactured in ready-to-install units in lengths to 6 meters. Stainless-steel strips keep dust and contaminants out of the housing. Cartridge connections simplify assembly, and two funnel-type nipples on the carriage make lubrication easy.
