Getting high performance out of a plug valve

Engineers at Flowserve Corp., Cookeville, Tenn., reinvented the nonlubricated plug valve to give it turning torques significantly lower than other plug valves and on par with those of ball valves.

Engineers at Flowserve Corp., Cookeville, Tenn. (flowserve.com), reinvented the nonlubricated plug valve to give it turning torques significantly lower than other plug valves and on par with those of ball valves. It also has the temperature capability of gate and tripleoffset butterfly valves, up to 525°F (274°C). The valves are available in sizes from 1 to 6 in. (25 to 150 mm) with flow rates ranging from 41 to 1,00 gpm, respectively.
