Waste-Gard II from Fluid Line Products Inc., Willoughby, Ohio, can help owners and operators change the oil in their equipment and vehicles with a minimum of mess and time. The device functions as a drain plug when the valve body is screwed into drains in oil reservoirs, gearboxes, or sumps. Screwing the second piece of the device, the hose-swivel, into the valve opens the valve and lets the oil drain at a flow rate of 55 to 85% of the flow rate of the unplugged drain port. The steel valve and swivel are zinc coated and have a low profile, so it fits in tight spaces under equipment.
