Direct Coupling Pumps Up Multiphysics

July 12, 2007

Abaqus FEA multiphysis software includes a direct-coupling interface that lets physics code developed by thirdparty users communicate directly with the software.

Printer-friendly version

Abaqus also supports protocols including the Mesh-based parallel Code Coupling Interface (MpCCI) from Fraunhofer SCAI. And a fluid-structure-interaction feature lets users simultaneously calculate the behavior of fluids and structures in a single model. Users can also perform coupled structural-acoustic, piezoelectric-mechanical, and electrical-thermal simulations.
