Composite cylinders, bushings

March 22, 2007

Staff

PolyLube and PolySlide composite products reduce friction and weight in pneumatic and low-pressure hydraulic applications.

Printer-friendly version

Cylinders improve impingement, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and seal wear; and offer high strength-to-weight ratio and fatigue resistance. They are available in interchangeable tubing and completed cylinder assemblies, which include nonmetallic/self-lubricating rod end bushings and composite piston rods. Bore surface has a Rockwell hardness of 50-60 C. Self-lubricating woven lined bushings for high load, low-speed applications replace the need for grease and have operating pressures of 55 to 69 MPa. PTFE-filled tape bushings are used as rod-guide bushings and minimize radial wear to extend seal and system life. They are available with seal grooves, flanges, grooves, and holes and have a coefficient of friction under 0.08 and load capacity of 55 MPa.
