The AGK Ball Screw Drive Unit from Bosch Rexroth Corp., Charlotte, N.C. (boschrexroth-us.com), delivers up to five times the speed of traditional ball screws when used for extended-length applications. A high-performance ball screw in a rigid aluminum housing with specially designed screw supports generates speeds up to 96 m/min, even in extreme environments. And the bearings reduce screw whip. The device is available in accuracy Classes 5, 7, and 9, and Sizes 20x, 32x, and 40x. Lengths range up to 6,000 mm and the units can be equipped with optional motor mounts for end or side-mount motors. Two funnel-type lube nipples on the carriage make it easy to lubricate the drive. And carriage connections simplify installation.
