Wire-Draw Mechanism with Encoder Measures 50 M

July 27, 2006
The MRA-F wire-draw mechanism combined with an absolute or incremental encoder measures linear paths up to 50 m.

Drum rotation is proportional to wire-extension length. The amount of rotation is measured by the encoder and output as distance information. The unit features a simply mounted encoder, a high-precision measurement drum, stable return spring, a highly flexible steel rope, and steel dirt removers for reduced wear. Interfaces include SSI, Profibus, CANopen, or DeviceNet for absolute encoders, and HTL or TTL for incremental encoders.
