A new silicone micromolding capability for medical-device manufacturers uses state-of-the-art micromolding equipment and a proprietary manufacturing process to design new, smaller medical devices.
The micromolding process delivers higher precision and shot-to-shot repeatability than conventional molding. Parts created with the process are as small as 0.001 gm and include complex geometries, thin-wall sections, holes, and undercuts.
Silicone micromolding applications include overmolding and two-shot silicone-thermoplastic molding for minimally invasive surgical devices, advanced drug-delivery devices, catheter components, and IV-therapy devices.
